Buying trousers doesn't have to be difficult
A new customer came into the store today looking for jeans. She tried on a few different models, and in the end, she noted with some surprise that they were all good.
That’s when she made perhaps the best comment:
“Oh, was it this quick?”
And that is exactly what we at My Milou hope trying on trousers to be like.
For many, the idea of buying trousers already sounds laborious. You have to find the right size, the right waist, the right leg length, and a style that feels good on. If it’s been a while since your last successful trouser purchase or if your body has changed, the whole project can feel even more daunting.
But it doesn’t have to be.

We know our trousers
Trousers are one of those product categories where our expertise shows perhaps the most concretely.
We know the cuts, sizing, and materials in our selection. We know which model is firmer, which is more stretchy, where the waist sits higher, and which leg length works best with a certain type of shoe.
That’s why we usually don’t start by trying on ten random pairs of trousers.
When we hear what the customer is looking for and what she expects from her trousers, we can quickly narrow down the options even before heading to the fitting room.
The size tag isn't the final word
One of the most important things when trying on trousers is to forget the number on the tag for a moment.
The same size doesn't fit the same way across different brands or even all models of the same brand. Sometimes the best size is the one you usually buy. Sometimes it pays to try a size smaller or larger.
Size is not the goal. A good fit is.
You don't need to know everything yourself
A customer doesn't have to walk into the store knowing which leg width, waist height, or jeans model suits them.
That is our job to help with.
Often, in the fitting room, it turns out that the pair of trousers the customer would have passed by on the hanger ends up being the best one. That’s why it’s sometimes worth giving a slightly different style a chance.

When trousers fit, you notice it
Good trousers don't require constant adjusting. They don't pinch in the wrong places and don't feel like you have to keep pulling or tugging them into place.
Instead, they feel natural to wear.
And perhaps that is exactly why today’s customer's comment stuck with me.
Buying trousers doesn’t have to be a long fitting marathon. When the models are familiar and the right options are identified immediately, the perfect pair can be found surprisingly quickly.
The customer doesn’t need to be a trouser expert. That’s what we are here for.
If searching for new trousers or jeans has been on your to-do list, feel free to come in and try them on. Let’s see together what feels just like you.
